GaudiLabs are creative spaces for working, thinking and living where culture and technology meet. We conduct open research in open source culture technology. GaudiLabs the corporation is a provider of open source solutions and network partner for open technology platforms. Developments include OpenDrop<\/a> digital microfluidics platform, PocketPCR<\/a> low cost USB powered PCR thermocycler and a broad set of open source generic lab equipment<\/a>. Products are sold through GaudiShop<\/a> online.<\/p>\n

Open Source Lab Equipment<\/h5>\n

The lab is equipped with high-low tech tools for mirco- and biotechnology. Most of the tools we use are do it your self (DIY) and open source and are built from widely available and recycled parts found in consumer products such as DVD drives, hard disks and pc fans. Building the specific devices further helps to understand the basic principles behind and learn more about the technologies and methods used. The discussions among scientists and engineers in the process of rethinking the devices to make them more accessible are very fruitful and often lead to new and innovative designs. Hack Sprints with GaudiLabs<\/h5>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/h5>\n

Hack sprints are short and intensive hack sessions where people interested in a particular subject meet and work together. The goal is to present the subject, elaborate it by just doing it and learn from each other. The results should then be openly documented for others and for further investigation. Sprints also serve to build the network and to get to know each other. In the future large collaboration project may arise from it. The meetings are strongly community run and are planed spontaneously on a more or less regular basis.<\/p>\n
